We are joined by “the cosplay cutie turned burlesque beauty,” Maki Roll to discuss everything she loves (including cats)! We discuss how she got her start in cosplay, her favorite characters in comic books, video games and movies. We delve into some spoiler talk about X-Men: Days of Future Past, what we’re looking forward to in the new Star Wars trilogy and the future of the WWE after the PAYBACK 2014 PPV.
We also spent some time discussing an article she wrote about being a black cosplayer and the racism that comes from convention attendees, even some of which are black themselves. Maki also offers some great advice on how to do cosplay well and continuing to do it even if people give you a hard time about your character choice.
